London Console Restoration

Post by antique1973 »

The frankenphone is no longer. Halloween is over after all.
Special thanks to Larry H. who went the extra distance to make
this restoration a possibility.

Great job, 1973! Always nice to see phonographs restored and brought back to how they originally once were.

Thanks Sonny! Its a little rough around the edges but I am happy with it.
This one had a tough life! The previous owners said the veneers were
shot and it was left outside for years. They put new mahogany veneers on
it but stained it the wrong shade or just put some kind of clear coat on.
This was my first Edison motor overhaul so it was also a good learning
experience. The motor barrel was actually pretty easy to take off, just
a bunch of screws. :)
