That's what I thought. I've also never seen an HMV with metal deck under the turntable which looks to be an expensive design feature. I wonder who made this machine.

The motor's a Collaro, which is very nice quality, and it's probably put together as an "assembled gramophone" or off-brand. I rather like that bifurcated horn.
