Re: strange BA
Searching "bandonion" brings up references to a type of accordion. 6.8.16 looks like a date, but who/what/when/why ?

Re: strange BA
"POSSIBLY A ONE OF KIND RECORD" what exactly does that phrase mean?
Sorry,I don't know nothin' about no Band Onion, sounds like a new kind of vegetable.
Closest thing on The Google...
"The bandoneón is a type of concertina particularly popular in Argentina and Uruguay."

Re: strange BA
I don't know for certain, but I would believe it to be an educational cylinder. I have some ICS French lesson cylinders and they are marked similarly: "ICS French lessons 11-12".
Also, given that it is shorter than the typical recording length suggests that it was not sold for entertainment purposes.
I wonder if it was made to go with the Edison School House?

Re: strange BA
Well... since Brad says its probably educational: it could be a Bandoneon lessons record.

Re: strange BA
For more info on the Bandoneon itself, search on You-Tube for Astor Piazolla, probably the greatest of all Bandoneon players and composers for that instrument.
The Bandoneon originated in Germany, and became almost the "national" instrument of Argentina. You can't have a proper Tango w/o one...
I find it intriguing that there seems to be only about 2-minutes-worth of music on the "4-minute" BA ?
