Beautiful Sonora phonograph
Sold today for $1400 at an auction in Texas. So jealous. I would have loved to have this one!

Is that the Supreme or Invincible? Was the exterior refinished? Lovely machine!

Invincible, pretty sure. There are at least two variants of each of the senior models, though - the differences include the semi-circular motor meter like this one, vs a round dial, and the grill openings’ shapes (squarish, vs short and rectangular).
I always felt like there should have been more senior model Sonoras, with dreadnaught-like names such as Implacable, Indomitable, and Indefatigable.

This is most definitely, without a doubt, a Sonora Supreme!!! What a great deal!!! Congratulations to the new owner!!!
Any more pictures or other details to share??? I would love to know the serial number on this one.
It looks as if the exterior may have been refinished at some point. Also, this is the first Supreme I've seen with a smooth (sans heavy carving) wooden tonearm --- just saying...

Thanks P-Log, I knew someone would correct me if I guessed wrong after being too lazy to look it up.
Actually I just wanted to say “indefatigable” one more time before the language has completely died.

Beautiful!
Now if I could only get the motor meter on my Chippendale to work…

You’re actually ‘envious’. “Jealousy” requires three people, ‘envy’ only two.

I may be able to help on the motor meter, if you want to get together by phone. PM me if you want to try.

Re: Beautiful Sonora phonograph
Here are some more pictures, as requested. I just stumbled on the auction. Kind of funny, the only way it showed up was by searching "record player". It didn't show by searching phonograph or sonora; so, I guess most people might have missed it. I could not bid since it was in Texas and I found it too late. Now I am on a search to find one of my own! What a beautiful machine!
