A Mal Needle Sharpener etc - Auction

Post by poodling around »

I see on a couple of forum threads that the 'Mal Sharpener' is very well thought of by some members and I spotted this one. The auction is quite soon.

There are also one or two other collectable items - although personally I don't collect any of them.

Maybe they are a bargain waiting for someone who does ?

Of course I can't comment on condition / completeness etc. but maybe worth investigating ?

Seems part of the large variety of things that the late Colonel had around his EMG turntable... Although I miss the paraffin candle.... :D

The auction also includes soundboxes, needle tins and record dusters, probably all from the same source.
The internet troll who shall remain nameless has been dead for three years, so unlikely to have been his.

Everything he owned was uniformly tatty and third rate condition so I also question whether these items ever belonged to him.

Among the machines in this auction is what must be one of the ugliest cabinets ever designed :

Lot 531 raised £230 on the hammer so nearer £300 with expenses if the charges were about 30% as now seems (horrifically) to be usual.

Interesting.

There are some 'high value' items in there so 'all in all' I think a bargain for the right collector.

I would agree---a bargain buy.
