Odd Ball Crane Identification ???

Post by Lampman5 »

Hello Everyone

Purchased a box of phonograph cranes years ago and was never able to identify what machine this crane would have come off. Measures 22 inches in length.
Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

That's the extension arm of a 2-part aftermarket crane for an Edison phonograph. It mounts on the motorboard/bedplate and is secured by the lid latch. See the photo below.

Grant, your too fast!!!

Oh well, here it is.

It is the top part of a crane made to attach securely using the lid latch. The crane utilizes hardware that already exists on model A, new case onward Edison Homes, Standard. I've not seen one for a Triumph, but I would not doubt that they exist.

This crane works particularly well with a 24-inch horn, but can support other sizes as well.
