Help me find this film: BIX Un'ipotesi leggendaria

Post by JHolmesesq »

Hi everyone,

I'm searching for an English subtitled version of the following film.

and there's a small excerpt here:

It's an Italian film made at the start of the 90's, detailing the life of Bix Beiderbecke. I saw the clip on Youtube and thought it's an amazing film - I'd love to see a complete copy somehow!

Thanks,

I, too, would like to see this film with English subtitles. The incident in the clip happened the first time Jean Goldkette's Graystone Ballroom Orchestra [led by Frank Trumbauer] tried to record with Bix. Eddie King, the A&R (artist and repertoire) man on the job for Victor threw Bix out just like here. It took the protests of the band to get Bix on their records. King, the villain [and sometimes victim] of several Bix stories started out as a drummer. He is the mechanical sounding drummer on several early Van Eps Trio records on Victor. The other two on those discs are Fred Van Eps, banjo and Felix Arndt, piano. :geek:
