I bought an "L" door oak XVI today at the local antique shop. He said he just purchased another machine and took me in the back room. If was a crapophone and I told him it was worthless in my opinion. It has glass sides and I looked through and saw what looked like a Victor VI or early Victrola XVI motor. He said he'd sell only the motor for $250. Anybody want just the spring motor? The first to PM "SOLD!" is the buyer

I thought there would be interest in this spring motor. Am I missing something?

Maybe if you had the turntable and that hard to find special nut to hold the yielding turntable in place.
I might pay 150.00$ or 175.00$ if I was in the market for one the way it sits now.
EDIT:
And there is a problem with the governor, the weights look incorrect, and someone put a wire "cinch" on the spring weights to keep them from flying out to far.
New weights and springs are pretty much non-existent.
Looks like it's been out in the weather too.
The gap between the spring barrels seems too small as well, I think if one were to open it up, they would find something wrong there too.
Sorry to be wet blanket, but it seems to have many issues.

Just the opposite. I appreciate the input. If anyone wants to make an offer, I will pass that along to the shop owner and also help with packing & mailing.Sorry to be wet blanket, but it seems to have many issues.
