Columbia adapter

I bought a nice Columbia phonograph and when it arrived it had a small bag with extra parts. Yesterday when I was cleaning it I opened the parts bag and it had what looks like a adapter to play Pathé records. Since I'm new can't really say I have never seen this before, I have never seen 80% of the stuff anyway. I have purchased many phonograph and have found all kinds of things inside of them but this is curious. Anyone has one of these?
