Interesting machine. Very pretty. Lovely condition. With original manual.

It was offered for sale at just £475.

What is really interesting is RA's dating of the machine to 1934.

I have been doing research into 102s here at this site and elsewhere in order to find out more about my 102, recently purchased.

Nothing about the 102 at Regent Antiques suggests a date of 1934. The serial number and model number plate would suggest a date of 1950, I think.

I think Regent Antiques will discover that hyperbole does not sell overpriced gramophones.
Their so called "De Luxe variant in black" is in fact the lowest priced base model of the 102.
As for not being around for long, I doubt that there will be buyers queueing up to pay £475.
I would suggest that £175 would be quite enough.

For £475 I'd at least expect to see a picture of the case FFS!

To fetch over £375 for a black 102E (post 1948, not 1934) it would need to look as good as new which this one doesn't.
