Hello all, just acquired a really nice Victrola 10-50x and was wondering if anyone still made replacements for the pot metal parts? My machine works fine, but the tone arm looks like is set on 12 inch records. the lever to change to a 10 inch record turns but there are teeth missing off of the gears in the back so it is not switching. Anyone know of a way to manually switch it to 10 inch records? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And no it is not in its permanent spot in my house yet, having to rearrange for this beast ha.

That's a really pretty cabinet! :)
You should be able to access the switching gear assembly by taking off the back panel. At the end of the switching assembly there's a plate with three notches (if I recall correctly) with each notch corresponding to 10-inch, 12-inch and "Victrola" (manual setting, with no record reject) settings.
You should be able to position this in the 10-inch notch with a little bit of figuring which is which.
I've sent a PM regarding replacement parts.
Good luck with your project!
Bob

I love the wood grain on this one. Well worth restoring the mechanism. Let us know about the source for replacement pot metal parts.

Hi Seth,

That is a very handsome 10-50! The veneer graining is more pronounced than usual.

I can supply you with a complete new index assembly. Please send an email for details.

Agree- VERY nice!

For what it's worth- the indexing handle on Seth's seems backwards. Mine points the other way... e.g., the little pointer points to the 10, 12, Victrola, and not the handle.
While we are on the subject of 10-50s... mine works perfectly except when I select "Victrola" it jams the tonearm and I can't figure out why. Any ideas?

I bought both my 10-50 and 10-35 from Victrola-Monkey Wayne, and I've been very happy with them. There's an RAE-84 I picked up from him too that's been with a repair guy for a couple years. Bought some other parts from Wayne off eBay in mid to late 2020 also, then he seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. He was making all these parts- or having them made- at one time also. I have one of his lighter anodized aluminum turntables on mine. It looks just like an original.

Anyone know what happened? Hopefully he just got sick of us and is living his best life.

Not to hijack your thread, Seth. You may wind up with the same jamming tonearm issue on the "Victrola" setting so if anyone has info it could help us both. And I agree- that's absolutely, hands- down the best wood figuring I have EVER seen on one of these! Enjoy it- these machines are a marvel.
