And I thought the one languishing in a local antique shop for the last several years at $500 was outrageous....

This machine has been on ebay for the past couple of years. This seller has grand delusions and an inflated value of this machine.

There is actually another thread that has tracked this machine over the past year. Oddly enough, the price has actually increased over time. One board member has admitted to contacting the seller about his unreasonable price, and I'm guessing many more have as well.

My assumption was the guy badly overpaid for the machine (probably in the $2k area) and is desparetly trying to find another sucker to recoup his loss. The auctions seem to usually appear when ebay is offering a no listing fee special.

Let's be fair. The seller's description says it's for serious collectors. Maybe we don't appreciate it because we're not serious

I've been laying awake these long winter nights, fearing that I have not been serious enough...

You just gotta love this line though................

"I am never afraid to ask too much for the one best of my prize collectibles. It is extremely rare & very old I think and may be you will love it too. It is your chance to have it now."

At least he admits that the price is too much... LOL
