Another very early British Pathé film

Post by TinfoilPhono »

Lots of errors in this 1936 history of sound recording, but still fun:

Wow! I had no idea that video existed of Francis Jehl recording on an Edison/Bergmann tinfoil machine.

Here's the full clip of Jehl demonstrating a Bergmann at the Ford Museum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXPJ5Uw ... Path%C3%A9

If you search in britishpathe.com you'll see great film shots of British singers and bands playing, like this one with great Jack Hylton's playing an unknown song, with Pat O'Malley singing the refrain with that exquisite voice of his, assisted by another colleague doing some interesting scat and echo singing in trombone fashion, whose name I don't remember... He then goes to replace the piano player in the middle of the song... they all seem to have a great time playing...
Anyone happens to know the name of this haunting song?
