Edison GEM Model E !
Picked up this little beauty recently. In 40 years of collecting , I have never seen a Model E before. According to Frow , the Model E was outwardly similar to its predecessor the Model D Gem, but the gearing on the E was fixed in the 4 - minute position , also the carrier arm eye was enlarged to take a larger diameter Model N reproducer. Introduced October 1912 ( U.S. ) and December 1912 ( U.K. ), could only have sold new in limited numbers as by then, Edison was actively promoting the Amberola range of cylinder players. Does anyone know how many were actually produced ? Regards from UK , Dulcetto

WOW!! Very nice. I too have been collecting for almost 40 years. But, I have never seen one available outside a show. I don't know how many were produced but there couldn't have been very many. Enjoy!!!

Congrats! I consider this to be the rarest of the GEM’s… with the Drip Pan model A a close second. [At one time I had every model and variation of Edison Gem in my collection…now these are the only two Gems I still have.

Can I borrow your Time Machine? I can't think how else you'd find a Gem with perfect paint.
