Has anyone come across this type plate on an Edison Gem machine? Just saw this on one of the Facebook phono groups.

I recently sold a GEM with similar tags.. but on mine the "Type 1" tag was on the lid right behind the handle.

These tags are for phonographs sold by Edison Bell in the UK. The tags are as follows:
Type 1 = Gem
Type 2 = Standard
Type 3 = Home
Type 4 = Triumph

Thanks for the education, Scott. Seemed as though that plate was placed over top of the gold printed Gem label.

Yes, the Edison Bell plate was over the GEM logo. I used to have one that was missing one of the pins holding the plate on because it interfered with the governor weights. The plate was bent outwards and the logo was visible underneath.
