That indeed is sad news. I have known Charley for almost 40 years. Meeting him at the shows in the USA and always present at the famous Rüdesheim show in Germany. We will miss him and his knowledge. Our Prayers go out to his Family.

Sad to hear this news. Charley was an icon in this hobby. I always enjoyed talking with him at the Union Show and last year at the Schaumberg show. He will be truly missed.

Re: Charley Hummel passing RIP
Extraordinary sad news. I have "only" been collecting about 30 years and Charley was (to me) one of the founding fathers of the hobby here in the Northeast. He was also the most gracious and trusting host as each spring and fall Wayne Show he would open his house provide food and beverage to those attending the show (collection room is seen in Blizz's picture above) and see, touch and mingle around phonograph items NOT FOUND ANYWHERE else. I am at a loss for words.
Prayers to his family.

So sad to wake up to the news of the passing of another icon in the phonograph collecting world, Charley Hummel. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. There will be a void at the upcoming Wayne Show with two great people not there Don Gfell and Charley Hummel.

What a sad thing. I must admit I gasped out loud when I saw this news this morning. I always enjoyed Charley and had the wonderful chance to spend a day with him at his home full of treasures a few years ago. I have a number of wonderful things that came from him over the years. He will be missed by so many. RIP my friend.

So sad to hear this news. Charlie was one of a kind. He had so many qualities. He was funny, knowledgeable, humble, generous, a gracious host. I'm sure my list is much too short. Charlie will be missed.
