Not a Caruso Pathé cylinder

This listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/175641240935 speculates possibly a Caruso Pathé cylinder and sets a $499 minimum bid. The cylinder is obviously cracked, notwithstanding the description "appears to have been cracked and mended." Nothing "appears" about it. The listing is otherwise riddled with misinformation, starting with attributing the cylinder to Caruso, who never recorded that selection on cylinder. The seller's other Pathé cylinder listings also invoke Caruso's name, with only one being the least plausible; that one says "Has a surface crack that looks fairly minor" without showing a photo. Of course "I have no way of playing these to confirm what's on them." Evidently at best an LP dealer out of his depth. I wrote the seller about the one linked above before I saw the other listings. We shall see if anything comes of it.
