This is one of the best sounding Japanese Paragon Tabletop Model 60. It has a unique horn. This was sold in Yahoo Auction Japan. I missed it unfortunately.

This thread should move to that of the strange things found inside gramophones.Steve wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 4:22 am What is that horn made from? It reminds me of a coiled snake. I love it. I don't care much for snakes though.
Me too. Interesting and apparently high quality design acoustically. It looks to me as though it could be some kind of bituminous lagging - fairly similar to how the horns in the large Orchorsol cabinets were treated.Steve wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 4:22 am What is that horn made from? According to Mr. Kei Ikeda, who was a very famous audio file specialist in Japan, the horn is made of some metal coil, new paper or fabric and asphalt.Steve wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 4:22 am What is that horn made from? It reminds me of a coiled snake. I love it. I don't care much for snakes though.
Here are the photos of the soundbox.
Interesting, very similar to the Victor Orthophonic.
