Excuse my ignorance, what is the difference between a reproducer and recorder? Self explanatory…? Does the Q have the capability to record a cylinder? How!?!? Thank you.

The recorder is set up with usually the little "ski jump" slope holding a cupped sapphire cutter, helping it to gouge/carve out a sliver of wax as the record turns; a reproducer has a nice round-pointed stylus and no ski-jump, riding the groove without altering it. The Q's do have a working feedscrew to let them advance the carriage so this is what enables it to cut the record; it might not be the greatest idea for a recording machine ever but it's definitely possible for even a little Q to make a record.
