If a cygnet horn is drilled in the incorrect place, (on my home B it is closer to the left than it should be, By about an inch or so) will it affect the movement of the cygnet horn? it is the early type with the little gadget that moves in and out (connecting the horn to the reproducer neck). Does it have enough play to account for the cygnet in the wrong place? I'm delving into the complicated world of cygnet horns!

Photos are as important as the question, but in this case the position of the support is centered to the mandrel.

If it works, it works. I would not redrill unless it is a problem.

Oh, that is not good.
At least one of the holes will be covered when it's corrected.

Most un-reamed cylinders sit closer to the right of the mandrel and that make it a bit further out of place.

Once the new location is planned, I would use a razor blade and cut a section (larger than the new hole) and use it when you fill the old hole.

Thanks for the help, everyone
Does anyone have pictures of the back of their machine or mounting instructions in case I do go along with re-drilling the mount and patching it.

Don't do anything until it's proven to actually be a problem.
The "little gadget that slides in & out" is called a Tiz-It. It's an aftermarket accessory that's particularly helpful for this style of horn.
