• The case was cleaned, wiped down with denatured alcohol, and amber shellac wiped over the remaining old finish.
• All old grease removed and replaced. It performs as it should.
• The sound box has been rebuilt.
• Old felt was used to re-cover the platter.
• Color was added soften the dark pitted areas on edge of platter.
• Listen a brief sound clip of it in operation…

Has a section of the base molding been replaced on the crank side? Is that a step in the molding, about ⅜" from the top?

The bottom shows the moulding being made of stock that was joined.
The area you've questioned is the way the moulding was milled.
