SOLVED: Opera / Idelia crank

Post by john9ten »

Hello all

I am seeking a crank for an Idelia. An Opera crank will also work. Any assistance is appreciated. This is for an Idelia that is being shipped to Mario Frazzetto in Australia; we are trying to complete it before shipping.

Thank you!

Hello,
An Opera crank will not fit on the Ideal/Idealia. You can screw it in, but it will hit the case.

Thanks Burdette. I guess the only thing you can do is open the top, wind it up with a Triumph crank, remove the crank then close it, correct?? Or is the top moulding still too wide?

I have an Idelia crank, but it is attached to a machine.😊
I can make up a quick drawing if it will help you find a substitute (?)

There are machinist out there that could easily make up an extension adaptor. Is there room inside the case to thread an extension adaptor on the winding shaft for the crank to then screw onto?? That would push the (OPERA) crank handle out further away from the case allowing you to crank it without hitting the case.

I have attached a picture of something I have in my parts but I'm sure the threading would be completely wrong.

That's a good idea. My friend has a machinist friend who said he couild make him something like that, if not a whole crank.
