The craftsman that built this upright cabinet did quite beautiful work.

150 dollars ??? This is certainly a lovely gramophone and if I had the opportunity I would certainly buy it for my collection.

Is that a compass design on the lid ?

As you say, 'beautiful work' ........ and extremely interesting. Remarkable.
