The Exhibition soundbox does have the triangular needle hole, so it may not be original to the machine... or it may. I don't see a suffix on the serial number so who knows. Also, I am absolutely certain the cabinet finish is not original. It's a great "original style" finish, though. The outside finish is a damn good match to the inside of the box. However, on the underside of the motor board, there's a definite glossy red mahogany finish, so my guess is that someone "modernized" it after mahogany came into mode, likely a long time ago, and a subsequent owner put it back to original. Aside from that, the amount of originality to this machine is pretty amazing. It clearly has been cherished.
The spring motor is clean and excellent running- quiet like a later Victrola; no thumps, bumps, or speed variations. It plays through a 12" record with plenty to spare.
It's a really viable "daily driver" candidate should it be chosen for this.
I'm asking $1995.00 SHIPPED in the continental USA. Overseas shipping no problem. If preferred, I'm completely happy to store it for the Jerry B Express to the Midwest show in Chicagoland or APS in California with full payment. I'm charging $150.00 for careful boxing and shipping using "Pirate Ship" discounted shipping, so deduct that from the price if you choose the no shipping option.
