Yikes. It looks like they modified the original Columbia elbow to make this into a cylinder horn. There are original adapters to accomplish this (I have one that converts a Victor horn to cylinder), but this one came from someone's workbench.

...And here's what a real one looks like (upper left), as seen in Antique Phonograph Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gimmicks. I've never seen one of these adapters for Columbia, but I'd be surprised if they didn't exist.
