There were three versions of The Preacher and The Bear on Blue Amberols;
First version:Flat title end,no announcing.
Second version: Beveled end with announcing (taken from wax Amberol #18).
Third version:Beveled end, dubbed from Diamond Disc.

There are a few announced Blue Amberols. Search the board for more info.

The announced copy of Preacher and the Bear is "take 2", as evidenced by 2 dots ("..") after the word "Pat'd" on the rim.

The announced version was made from 4 minute wax Amberol masters. I am of the opinion that it was re-recorded very early in the celluloid era in order to give an unannounced BA for sale. I have the announced version on both 4 minute wax and Blue Amberol cylinders, the unannounced Blue Amberol (which is not a dub but a live cylinder recording), the dub from Diamond Disc and the 2 minute Edison wax cylinder version. Along with all of that, I have it on a 4 minute U. S. Everlasting cylinder and a Victor batwing... all by Arthur Collins.

I am aware of at least one other announced Blue Amberol: 28161 in the Concert Series, Celeste Aida by Florencio Constantino. It was released on BA April 1913 but was recorded circa 1908 according to Alan Sutton's BA Discography. Apparently never released on wax Amberol. I have two copies, both flat end, both announced by the singer himself (I believe) in Italian with a very Italian sounding pronunciation of "Edison Record."
