Two wood horns, unfinished, old - SOLD

Post by kendphono »

I have two old wood horns that I bought about 20 years ago. The fellow that made them, started with a thin horn mold and then laminated the shells with either oak or mahogany. I never got around to finishing them. They are in good shape and a lot cheaper than a new horn. The horns look good and I'm sure they will look good when finished. The inside of the horns have some bubbling on the curve. I suspect this was from the contact cement separating some. In the past, on re-veneering, I have applied heat and was able to get veneer back down and smooth again. I don't know if this would work on this or not. It is also possible to inject glue with a very fine needle into the bubble and apply pressure. I don't know the best way to deal with them. The oak cygnet horn comes with the ring which is expensive all by itself. The horns are quite light and weigh about the same as a regular wood horn. They are also quite durable, and the best thing is they will never split! The elbow shown on the back mount horn does NOT go with the horn but I would entertain an offer. It has been re-plated with 24 Caret gold.

I do not know the shipping cost but can figure it out once I know the buyers address. They will clearly be big boxes. I do not take paypal so you will need to send a check once I have a shipping address. If you have any questions, Contact me at [email protected]

I want $250 for the mahogany and $300 for the oak cygnet.
