“On This Day in the History of Recorded Sound…”

July 18, 1911: Peter Weber was granted a U.S. patent (No.998,218) for a “Phonograph Horn Crane.” This was the ubiquitous Edison horn crane supplied with a variety of Edison models beginning in October 1907.
