Well, I've been sitting on the fence for a long time, my daughter's in her final year of college, we've got the $ put aside, I've been complaining about never having an open horn Vic, so I'm now officially on the lookout for one.
I had one lined up with some who "sold it to another collector", I figured I'd start putting out the feelers. Even checked auction sites and I was shocked when the Vic II at the Willow Auction House went for only $475 (plus an amazing 28% buyers premium and whatever they want to charge for shipping... probably another $400 right there!). Sadly I clicked into that one too late (though I may have overpaid in hind sight).
Are there any folks out there looking to make a little room in their collection with a neglected Vic III that I could both work on AND drive to get? Located in Northern VT. Not looking to pay 1990's prices but also not looking to get anything for free for sure. Let me know. I may also have items to trade if interested though keep in mind the bulk of my collection is Orthophonic Vics, a Columbia cylinder player, Grafonola, and Vivatonal lowboy.
Let me know and thanks for your consideration!

Re: FOUND: Project Victor III
Thanks all, it turns out I’ve actually found one locally, mostly complete with a matching cabinet. Looking at how much that one on eBay is going for with still a week left to go I’m beginning to think I perhaps got a better deal than I was thinking. Now to find parts and start fixing up my new project!

If you end up with a spare turntable for the Victor lll please let me know, mine wobbles and it looks like someone drilled out the hole slightly. Thank you James Manker
