I have only been going to the show in Wayne, NJ. for a few years. I have always enjoyed it. In the grand scheme of things, I am a newbie as far as attending shows goes even though I have been collecting for many years. Just in the past year or so, I have seen great people in the collecting community pass. I was lucky enough to meet them at the show in Wayne. Some people say that the show is mostly for record collectors. There are a lot of records there; cylinders, 78's and whatever else you might want. However, there are a lot of phonographs there also. You never know what you might find! The show is not huge, but if you can make it, go and enjoy yourself! I know that it is expensive to travel, etc. You don't have to go to every show.
Take a chance and see what it is like. Also, take a look at the Antique Phonograph Society show in Schaumburg, IL and also the APS show in California. I have not had the chance to attend the show in California, but look forward to attending it in the near future. Get into it, learn and enjoy the hobby.
