I have only been going to the show in Wayne, NJ. for a few years. I have always enjoyed it. In the grand scheme of things, I am a newbie as far as attending shows goes even though I have been collecting for many years. Just in the past year or so, I have seen great people in the collecting community pass. I was lucky enough to meet them at the show in Wayne. Some people say that the show is mostly for record collectors. There are a lot of records there; cylinders, 78's and whatever else you might want. However, there are a lot of phonographs there also. You never know what you might find! The show is not huge, but if you can make it, go and enjoy yourself! I know that it is expensive to travel, etc. You don't have to go to every show.
Take a chance and see what it is like. Also, take a look at the Antique Phonograph Society show in Schaumburg, IL and also the APS show in California. I have not had the chance to attend the show in California, but look forward to attending it in the near future. Get into it, learn and enjoy the hobby. :)

I've been attending the Wayne show off and on (usually "on") since 1999. I've not noticed an attendance pattern (heavier vs. lighter) between the fall and spring shows. The Saturday parking lot activity is of course wildly variable depending on the weather.

My information is a couple of years old but the Wayne show is good. Living in Seattle I normally do the APS show in Anaheim and regularly to Union. I haven’t done the new Midwest show yet. Wayne was better than the dying Union. The APS show is bigger but has a smaller parking lot sale. I am primarily a record collector. The Wayne show had many prizes to come home with. Perhaps I’ll go again this year?

After the April show I posted some pictures of the Sunday, indoor show at Wayne. Others posted as well. I am impressed with the number of people that show up to Wayne. I think Mike Devecka does a nice job advertising. Like George, I don't see a huge difference between Fall and Spring.

I have gone to the majority of shows since it started in Wayne, I think. As others have said, I haven’t seen a lot of difference in attendance between spring and fall. I have gotten a few machines and parts there and usually come away with at least a few records, although I walked out with less at the spring show this year. I live only about 45 minutes away so it is easy for me to get there on Saturday and Sunday.
