Oh my look what someone just paid for one of those Sonora Carved wooden tone Arms, and an Electric light, that came off of one of those Amputee Sonora Art Models errr Period Models from the early 1920's.

Doesn't make much sense, does it? The complete Period machines are often far cheaper. I suppose if I had a Supreme that was missing the tone arm, I'd pony up, but otherwise it seems awfully pricey.

This doesn't bode well for the eradication of "parting out" phonographs that would otherwise be restorable.

Yes, a complete Sonora Art Model sold recently in Texas for around $400 (I am sure everyone must remember that one) with the same Tone Arm and and light !! The same buyer that purchased this Tone Arm also purchased the motor. The same two bidders finished 1 & 2 on both of them. The odd thing about it is that the bidding history on the winning bidder shows that he bid on only records for the last 30 days, until these two items came up, and the 2nd bidder, only bid on Piano Rolls for the last 30 days, prior to these two items. Now that is pretty strange indeed, although I am sure there must be a logical explanation.

Yes, that they change their bidding habits when something they wanted or had been looking out for for a while came up. I am sure if someone were to examine my ebay bidding history closly then similar anomolies would crop up. I don't always bid on the same types of things and neither, it would appear, do they.

This is exactly what I thought first of all. Spare parts tend to be offered (and sold) for prices completely out of proportion.

When i logged on last night to see what that went for i was stunned//
The same guy bought the motor to for 281.00
Maybe he has a nice Art case... Er Umm excuse me for living Period model lol...
God that who name thing makes me laugh

But maybe he needed the parts, Heck i will list mine thats complete and working perfect to see what it goes for. Someone with alot of money bought that stuff that must have really needed it
