Folks,
For sale today is an Edison Standard Speaker. Edison introduced the Standard Speaker in 1889 with the introduction of the single reproducer carriage, replacing the earlier spectacle carriage. The Standard Speaker combined the playback and recording jewels on the same stylus. Adjusting (twisting) the Standard Speaker in the carriage changed from playing to recording.
This one is really nice, correctly rebuilt with a French glass diaphragm. Both jewels are present and are good. It plays very well. Overall strong nickel plating. This is one great looking, great playing, no apology very early and hard to find reproducer/ recorder.
This Standard Speaker would be correct on a Class M, early Spring Motor, Amet or even early an early Home or Standard. The Standard Speaker was sold until 1902. This is one cool piece.
One just sold on EBAY for over $700.00. This Standard Speaker is its equal or superior in every way.
The price is $575.00 plus shipping to you. Can be delivered to Stanton's next week.
Contact me at [email protected] with interest. Its available until a new buyer agrees to purchase and shipping total.
