Victrola In Wicker Cabinet
Did Victor make wicker cabinets? This was found along the side of the road locally. It needs a clean up and minor governor repair.

Re: Victrola In Wicker Cabinet
First someone finds a Sonora in an alley viewtopic.php?t=59165, and now a wicker cabinet machine has been dumped at the roadside. Their owners clearly had no further use for them, but surely they could have donated them to collectors or to charity.
They were lucky to have escaped being vandalised or ruined by bad weather, so congratulations to their rescuers..

No, to my knowledge, the Victor Talking Machine Company did not make wicker cabinet Victrolas. That looks like a custom job, fitted with some Victor parts, and a non-Victor horn. I think the major producer of wicker cabinet phonographs was Heywood Wakefield (For Instance, https://www.liveauctioneers.com/price-r ... honograph/ ).

Just for the record, I did not find this. The guy who found it brought it to me for repair.
