Aftermarket Amberola grill.
What are the odds that my new machine and a picture of one I found online would have the same odd grill? Was this a fad at one time? It isn't original, right?

That's common hardware store metal screen. Often used to shield radiators or other hot surfaces.

Cool. You don't see to many radiators down here in Oklahoma. Thanks.phonogfp wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:29 pm That's common hardware store metal screen. Often used to shield radiators or other hot surfaces.

IMO it looks much better than most replacements I see on here. People putting pink and red or green cloth over it.

I think I'll keep it as is. I kind of like it.travisgreyfox wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 8:55 pm IMO it looks much better than most replacements I see on here. People putting pink and red or green cloth over it.

So none of these would work, or was my post invisible?OrthoFan wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 8:06 pm You might find an authentic looking replacement here -- https://www.grampstreasures.com/edison_ ... rills.html

I'm not sure if the original would be wood grain. The top plate is painted black. I admit I didn't look. I apologize. I expected the prices to be higher, and I think for the time being I'll keep it as is. Thank you.

The original was woodgrained. On the website posted by Orthofan, the Amberola X/30 grille would be correct for your Amberola DX, and is rather fairly priced.Phonoboy wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:02 pm I'm not sure if the original would be wood grain.
