Wanted information on this HMV Special Record No1
Is this a late pressing of this record.
When would they have decided to call it No1
How common are these records.

A glimpse of the matrix number in the runout area would be great to see...
For the issue face number on the label, 120-604, nothing appears in the Kelly database.

Thank you i appreciate your reply.
I’m not sure what that really means but it’s the same on both sides. Although I haven’t played it.
I thought plenty of people would be able to tell me more about it.
Here is the other side.

This second side has the same label, and probably the same recording.
Records this kind were intended for use in the radio emissions, etc
I mean to take a photo of any numbers you may see engraved in the runout empty area around the label. These are the matrix numbers, unique to each wax recording from which the stampers are made.

It's "probably" a 1910 issue for commemorating the inauguration of King George V...
It may be a puzzle record, since it lists two titles on each side, or just two recordings. You should play it to find out.

Re: HMV Special Record No 1
The pressing is Australian.
There would have been a time when the Australian forces and USA forces were working together and having the two tunes available on one record may have some practical military use. the Australian factory would have been semi- autonomous during the WW2 I assume and available to make a special record.
I would have expected the Star Spangled Banner.
