78 rpm Stereo Hifi Records

Post by CarlosV »

I just bought three 12-inch 78 records newly made by Rivermont Records https://rivermontrecords.com/products/2 ... 9516309565. The high quality of the product surprised me, including the music, the recording, the pressing and the cover. The fidelity of the (stereo) sound exceeds that of the modern 33 and 45 rpm audiophile records we can buy today. Evidently there is the shortcoming of the duration - the longest side on the three is around 10 minutes, and to play them you need a modern turntable with a microgroove stylus that spins in 78 rpm - not easy to find today. But if you have such turntable, it is worth getting them. I liked the music as well, all ranging from ragtime to early 30s type of music, well played and sung in all three records.
