FOR SALE - Polk Miller and His Old South Quartette, The Bonnie Blue Flag, Edison Wax Amberol #389, Excellent - no mold, no wear, original box and lid. $65, postpaid in the USA, worldwide at cost.
The song title referred to the first flag of the Confederacy which was a deep blue flag with a white star in the center. It was wildly popular during the war and was reportedly sung by soldiers while marching. The Bonnie Blue Flag was sung to the old Irish tune "The Irish Jaunting Car" written by Harry Macarthy in the mid 1800's. In my opinion, Polk Miller and His Old South Quartette's version is a musical masterpiece that transcends time.
