“On This Day in the History of Recorded Sound…”
January 9, 1905: Horace Sheble filed for a U.S. Design Patent (eventually granted as No.38,106) for “Horn for Talking Machines.” This was one of the earliest (and ultimately one of the most successful) patents for “flower horns” or “morning glory horns.”
