Pathé No.0

Post by DanP58 »

Good Evening all,
I acquired a Pathé No.0 cylinder phonograph. Looking for information on this machine. Ive found some on internet sites about Pathé.
I’d like to see a clear picture of what the horn supports look like.
Also wondering how hard parts are to find for this phonograph.
It’s missing the horn, horn support, rubber boot connector for reproducer and reproducer ?? . I have a reproducer on another Pathé machine.
It needs a good cleaning but looks complete and does run. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dan

I see some quite good pictures on google of the model 0. I suspect you would have to make the horn support. Horns and parts regularly turn up on eBay.fr, there’s one at the moment that finishes in a few hours. But others are available.

Thanks Jamiegramo I saw other sites like this, I guess I should have said I’d like clear pictures taken of a horn and support. I just can’t see enough when you blow them up. I guess the rod wouldn’t be hard to fabricate but the support on the horn could be a problem.
Thanks again
Dan

It was also termed as a model "Democratic" - possibly because it was the cheapest model they manufactured. There were 2 variations - only slight differences. Also, with an adaptor, this could play inter cylinders.

Hi, the picture submitted by Jamie shows the horn fitting and support arm suited for various Pathé cylinder models , but not for the Democratic ( or Modele O ) -- that had a different pattern of horn fitting and support arm which was unique to that model. I will upload pictures in due course

Here's a shot that (not quite perfectly) shows the horn support for one I sold a while back. For comparison, in the background you can see a machine with the type in jamiegramo's photo above.
