Holy mackerel, the 1928 Wards "Richland" is almost identical to the M.W. Savage "Northome" brand consolette phonograph I picked up last October. Bet you they're probably both the same cabinet supplier for Wards as for mine--all that's different would be the legs and the pattern of the grille.

Once saw the “new style” S shape tone arm mounted on a VV-XI circa 1915 vintage. Page 315. Estate sale from the late 1990’s.
One way to play those new “Viva Tonal” recordings on your old style Victrola.
