12th March 2025, Horsham, Sussex. Horn considerably droopy and weak at usual stress point. Electric conversion. However, an excellent subject for a relatively easy restoration to produce a magnificent musical instrument.

The auctioneers have chosen not to reveal the price (except briefly on their website front page) - sold for £740 hammer price, which if I'm not mistaken equates to about £918, or £962 if the bid was online.
A strong price considering the poor condition of both case and horn, re-motoring (although it looks as if that could have been done by EMG themselves) and lack of soundbox.

Thank you for the update.
I wonder if the soundbox was stolen before the photos were taken.

I shouldn't laugh but I couldn't help it when I read your comment. Are we thinking of another auction in particular from recent times?jamiegramo wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 12:24 pm Thank you for the update.

We are indeed! With upto half the value of a complete machine tied up in its soundbox you have to question any machine missing one.Steve wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:04 pmI shouldn't laugh but I couldn't help it when I read your comment.
