Fun game:
Just measured the max dB level reached of a well recorded 50 cm (20 inch) Pathé record played on open horn machine (Pathé Concert model A ) at 120 rpm.
What do you guys guess the max dB it reached?

average was around 110-115
With a peak of a whopping 124,8 dB!

Heavens! It's almost dirty loud!
I've once tested one hmv101 with a Spanish recording and restored soundbox that sounded hurtingly loud! The castañuelas were atrocious! Clack clack clack!
