Columbia Type K

I purchased this Columbia K on the last day of the Gfell auction, It appears to be identical to the Republic BA as shown in the Columbia Phonograph Companion book by Baumbach and Lackey ,but no mention of it ever having a decal or there ever being a Model K. Does anyone have any information on this model? Thanks

Here's a page from The Talking Machine Compendium showing one of these Type K Graphophones. Being a BA, it was undoubtedly sold by a retailer who ordered the custom decal.

It would be a worthwhile project for someone to research the origins of some of these custom-branded machines which used Columbia and Talkophone machines.

Likely a retailer special-order. Sometimes you see Phonographs with custom badges or decor.

Nice find by the way! Only got 1 item from the Gfell auction. A brass-tri horn. A solid pull, but I was also bidding on 2 toy Phonographs.

Sorry, should have explained. I won an auction for $25 for a horn that is 3 horns which connect at one point. Is it stupid and most likely junk? Probably. But I think it's neat.

I ask because Hawthorne & Sheble (pronounced "Hawthorne and Sheb-lee") briefly marketed such a horn. Only one is known to have survived.

I saw that at the auction. I believe it's a bulb horn.
