Additional information from the Victor Hyperion User Manual about the motor fuse found in early production motors.

The fuse is rated at 2 amps in is designed to protect the motor if it is accidentally connected to a DC mains power source instead of AC.
The fuse and holder were soon eliminated and replaced with a single wire joining both coils. The motor will not run without the fuse in place or the crossover wire connected.
