The A.I description is rather horrific to me. I suppose I’ll have to get used to this unimaginative writing aid for lazy people.
As for being rare, well it’s not. I’ve seen several in my lifetime. They all have had symptoms of VD. Veneer peeling disease. Plus a horribly dark brown gravy finish. Probably to cover up cheap bass wood masquerading as mahogany. The “William & Mary” console looks nicer and probably sold more.
Now if you were decorating in a Gothic “Bride Of Frankenstein” motif it would probably fit in nicely.
As has been stated, console phonographs do take up considerably more floor space.
