ECLIPSE disc?

Greetings! I found this unusual 2-sided disc mixed in with a batch of very common Victor batwings, etc. It's 8 inches, and according to the label was made in England, though the band is called the "Connecticut Collegians." Can anyone out there confirm that it is, indeed, English? Any idea when it might have been made, if it's electric or acoustic? Was this a common label? Anyone know what company made it? Any and all information appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, it's a British label, electric, from 1932. These are not so common in the states but are by no means rare.

Yes indeed, totally British! They were made by the Crystalate company in Tonbridge, Kent and were all cheap sixpenny Woolworths records and very common over here. Generally they had one 'copyright' side with the other being a composition by in-house musicians. The Connecticut Collegians were led by Jay Wilbur, who also became the overall musical director for Crystalate.
