FOUND: MIKIPHONE RECORD HOLD-DOWN OR COMPLETE PHONOGRAPH

Post by Raphael »

I am missing the knurled record hold-down for my Swiss Mikiphone. I realize this is a tough nut to find (no pun intended). But, hope springs eternal.

Or, someone can lend me the hold-down from their Mikiphone, I can have one made, and in fact will probably get 25 done so that others can benefit as well. It is my understanding that many Mikiphones suffer from their loss as well.

Alternatively, if someone has a complete Mikiphone for sale, I could buy that.

No PM's please, just email me at: [email protected]

The Swiss Mikiphone is round. I believe the rectangular, boxy ones were made in Japan.

The two are spelled differently --

The round Swiss phonograph is the Mikiphone -- (Introduced 1924)

The Japanese rectangular box phonograph is the Mikky-Phone -- (Introduced post-WWII, circa 1947)

I always get the two confused. :D

There are pre- and post- WWII Mikkyphones, and they are slightly different from each other in certain details.

But that is, perhaps, for a different thread.

The TMF sure is great for locating arcane bits and pieces. I was able to source what I needed from two different collectors. Now I have the nut, and another compete Mikiphone as well.
