What's the problem?

Only $500? I was ready to bid but I am not confident in this model. Is it a clever fake or did someone get lucky?

It looks to me like a marriage, ie: old components but improperly matched.

I agree. The screws that hold on the back bracket dont look right to me either.

Looks to me like the machine started out as an early front mount Col AH. At some point it was updated with rear mount back bracket, tone arm, and a Talk-O-Phone reproducer. I wouldn't be surprised that this was done back when the machine was in use. There must have been quite a bit of incentive to update your front mount machine to the more modern rear mount set up where the horn and tone arm are independent of each other. Jerry Blais
