Looking for "Nick" with an Edison Standard- Reston, VA

Post by outune »

Hi All-- This morning I attended an Estate Sale in Reston, VA that had advertised an Edison Phonograph and cylinders. The sale was also yesterday, so I knew there was a chance the Edison would have been sold.
Sure 'Nuff-- When my wife and I arrived at the sale this morning, we discovered that was the case-- It sold on Friday. The pictures in the listing showed it was a Ed. Standard.
The organizers of the sale said the purchaser was a 19 year-old, new collector who couldn't contain his excitement at buying the machine. They said he was almost giddy, telling everyone all about it. :) They only remembered that his name was "Nick". I was glad that I "lost" the machine to a new collector. :)
If anyone knows who "Nick" might be, please pass on my contact info. He obviously lives relatively close to me and I would love to meet a new collector in the Northern Virginia area. I enjoy helping new collectors and have lots of parts that I'd be glad to give or sell cheaply to help him with restoring machines. After nearly 49 years of collecting, I have been downsizing considerably and have moved lots of parts and machines into others' hands. I'd love to meet "Nick" :)

Thanks!
Brad Abell
