I bought a Triumph F at the show and on the very first wind, the spring let loose. Took it apart and it looks like much of the break was older. So all it took was a decent wind to finish it off. Not suggesting anything nefarious on the seller's part. Just not my lucky day.
Are the F's springs interchangeable with any other models? As in maybe the Opera? I actually have one that came in an Opera case. Although the diameter is correct, the pear is wider and clearly won't work.
As I have only participated in one spring replacement, any suggestions are appreciated on availability or replacement process. I do understand the power and hazard. I would also consider sending it out for a reasonable cost.

The different size pear-shaped hole will most likely not be a problem, especially if you don't wind it to the very end, which is poor practice anyway.

Re: Broken Triumph F Spring
More digging and I find the Opera springs do interchange with the F Triumph. The ones that Brian has resemble the pears of what I'm replacing. They are more narrow on the end, which is what I need. Wyatt gave me a fair price and I've shipped it off. He did strongly recommend doing both, so that's what I did and will indicate with a note inside the case for a future owner.
